G2MT Labs Services and Capabilities

 It all starts with metallurgical expertise. Our senior metallurgists have all been trained in failure analysis under the world-renowned Dr. David Matlock from Colorado School of Mines (and he’s one of our consultants, too!)

– Our staff has over 100 years experience and includes many of the world’s top consulting metallurgists such as:

  • Professor Emeritus in Metallurgical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines
  • NIST senior failure analyst on 100’s of high-profile investigations including the WTC
  • One of the world’s top experts in microstructures and metallography
  • Another Professor Emeritus in Metallurgical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines
  • And more experts in corrosion resistant alloys, exotic alloys, nuclear materials, and other disciplines

Metallurgical Failure Analysis

Our customers trust us to provide top-notch metallurgical failure analysis because we:

  • Take a very thorough, focused, and scientific approach to failure analysis;
  • Actually read the current literature and know the science;
  • Have performed many investigations related to pipelines, drilling, offshore, storage tanks, cranes, and many other types of equipment;
  • Analyze carefully to determine causal factors, root cause, and recommendations;
  • Provide regular, informative updates and keep open lines of communication;
  • Have a passion for what we do, and it shows in our work and service!

To save you money and provide the best service, our practice is to maintain everything needed for rapid failure analysis and consulting services by performing most work in-house, with the exception of mechanical testing, large sample cutting, and electron microscopy. We use qualified third-party vendors that provide rapid turnaround for those services, so that we can complete most analysis within 3-10 business days or less.
